The 20-inch Wide Body design is a fast growing size of suitcase because we hear more and more often of airline stewards asking passengers to place their carry-on upright straight in the overhead bin to create more space in the over-crowded bins of an airplane. The Wide Body with two traditional wheels fits in a heck of a lot more bins straight in than 20-inch four-wheel Spinners. Plus, you won’t be cheated on capacity--this Wide Body actually has a touch more room than it’s 22-inch upright “cousin”.
Platinum is made with the very best fabric 2000 denier ballistic nylon with Duraguard stain and water resistance, plus has a very stylish Herringbone Trim indictive of top-end luggage. coating. This new, lustrous material’s durability is unquestionably tough, but the reviews on the appearance have been phenomenal. A ballistic, two-by-two weave is integrated with classic Herringbone Trim to present a stately aesthetic that is unique from competition and sure to set your bag’s appearance from the run of the mill flat, solid colors that are frankly, very boring. Travelpro’s American-made, YKK zippers are frequent flyer tough because of a side-bound construction which places the nylon zipper off the corners where abrasion occurs. Exemplifying American ingenuity in design, Platinum 7 uprights feature an unique retractable, fully recessed, telescoping handle system with push button single-hand operation. The handle employs “I-Beam Geometry” which are handle tubes that are vertically oriented which are much stronger, more resist to impact on the back of the bag, and take up less room on the interior.
Travelpro Platinum Rollaboards are “packed” with quality interior features not found in most luggage today. For example, all hardware has a super tough finish for the optimal combination of strength and light-weight. Large butterfly wings hold down straps on the interior keeps your clothing bundle in place and wrinkle-less. In-between the telescoping handles the Platinum uprights have a clever mesh pocket so you don’t waste that precious interior capacity around the telescoping handles.
Interior mesh dividers and pockets allow separation of his.hers, clean/dirty, dress/casual, dry/wet, etc. All uprights have a fully lined interior with H2O guard for stain and water resistance. Finally, you’ll find a removable suiter with two (not just one) patented foam bars to reduce wrinkling and keep up to two suits separate and wrinkle-proof.
On the exterior, the bag has removable wheels for easy repair with a simple Phillips-head screwdriver. The polyurethane bonded wheels with sealed bearings roll through any climate or terrain and ride quiet on hard surfaces. A full length, bottom foot with handle cup with Award Winning "No-Tip" feature keeps the bag upright at all times. Two more handle grips on the site and top of the bag cut a low-profile and possess a TPR comfort grip with chrome accents. Add a TSA-approved luggage lock, integrated ID tag, and the Platinum line has more standard features than a Cadillac.
A super tough frame consists of a compression molded back panel and full width PP Honeycomb material to provide extra strength and impact resistance. Don’t forget an expansion capability around this frame adds up to 15% more packing capacity.
