The Switchback Max 25 features four different woven nylon materials such as the 420 denier Helix-e Tela, 420 denier Helix-e Dual Ripstop, 900D Bi-Tech-e, and the 1200D Bi-Tech-e. All of these fabrications are placed strategically to provide a lighter bag and because different parts of a bag wear differently. Eagle Creek mixes and matches varying weights of fabric to dial up the toughness while dialing down the carrying weight.
While in backpack mode, the fully padded back walls are made with an improved Comfort Zone Carry System with Aero-mesh material to add comfort for the long haul. The shoulder, sternum and load lifter straps all adjust, as does the fully padded hip belt (up to 50%). When you wish to wheel your bag (which users tell us you will indeed wheel 95% of the time) Eagle Creek’s Touch Point Radius Handle System is lighter in your hand because there is more weight on the wheels.
Another original Switchback design from Eagle Creek was the adding of a detachable backpack to the rolling backpack idea.
